ACCESSIBILITY
STATEMENT
Our commitment to making the P4TKD website accessible, usable and welcoming for as many people as possible.
P4TKD · ACCESS FOR EVERYONE
Last updated: 14 October 2026
1. Our Commitment
Pat Carter Schools of Tae Kwon-Do (P4TKD) wants our website to be accessible and usable by as many people as possible.
We aim to provide an inclusive online experience for visitors accessing information about our Tae Kwon-Do clubs, classes, events and services.
We recognise that accessibility is an ongoing process and will continue to review and improve the website as its content and functionality develop.
2. Using This Website
We aim to make the website straightforward to navigate and understand.
Where possible, visitors should be able to:
- Navigate the website using a keyboard.
- Zoom and resize text using their browser or device.
- Access the website on desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
- Understand content written in clear, straightforward language.
- Identify links, buttons and interactive controls.
- Navigate pages using meaningful headings and page structure.
- Access important information without relying solely on colour.
Individual browsers, operating systems and assistive technologies may provide additional accessibility features.
3. Accessibility Standards
When designing and maintaining the P4TKD website, we aim to follow recognised accessibility good practice and consider the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
These guidelines provide recommendations for making digital content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities and access needs.
We do not currently claim that every part of the website has been independently audited or formally certified as meeting a particular WCAG conformance level.
4. Images and Visual Content
We aim to provide appropriate alternative text for meaningful images so their purpose or content can be understood by visitors using assistive technology.
Decorative imagery should, where appropriate, be ignored by screen readers.
Some historical or third-party content may not yet have complete alternative descriptions. We will continue to review this as the website develops.
5. Keyboard Navigation
We aim for important website functionality to be accessible without requiring the use of a mouse.
This includes navigation, links, buttons and forms where technically possible.
If you encounter an area that cannot be accessed or operated using a keyboard, please let us know so that we can investigate it.
6. Text, Colour and Contrast
The website uses a consistent visual design based around high-contrast black, white and gold elements.
We aim to ensure text remains readable and that important information is not communicated through colour alone.
Visitors can also use browser or device controls to increase text size or zoom into pages.
7. Forms and Online Services
The website includes forms and interactive services, including contact enquiries and free trial requests.
We aim to provide clear labels, instructions and feedback to help visitors understand and complete these forms.
Our website also contains online shopping functionality. Some elements of checkout or payment services may be provided by third-party platforms and may therefore be outside our direct control.
8. Videos and Other Media
The website may contain video, images or other multimedia content.
Where practical, we aim to make this content accessible and provide suitable supporting information.
Some older content or media supplied through third-party services may not yet meet every accessibility recommendation.
If you need information contained within a video or other media in a different format, please contact us.
9. Third-Party Content
Some areas of our website may rely on external platforms, embedded services or links to third-party websites.
Although we aim to choose appropriate services, we cannot directly control the accessibility of websites or services operated by other organisations.
10. Known Accessibility Issues
We are continuing to review the accessibility of the P4TKD website as part of its ongoing development.
There may be areas of the website that could be improved, particularly older content, third-party functionality or documents created before the current website design.
If we identify significant accessibility problems, we will aim to address them where reasonably possible.
11. Alternative Formats
If you are unable to access information on this website, please contact us.
Where reasonably possible, we will try to provide the information you need in an alternative format or help you access the relevant information another way.
12. Reporting an Accessibility Problem
Accessibility works best when people tell us where something isn't working.
If you experience difficulty using the P4TKD website, encounter an accessibility barrier or have a suggestion for improvement, please contact us.
It is helpful if you can tell us:
- Which page or feature you were trying to use.
- What problem you experienced.
- Which device or browser you were using, if known.
- What we could provide or change to help you access the information.
